Intoducing Iowa Legendary Rye – By Bad Bear Enterprises. All-Natural Handcrafted Prohibition Era Rye using our 1931 bootlegging grandmothers recipe handed down five generations, Iowa Legendary Rye is truly legendary.
Our Rye is a small-batch rye. Distilled with a prohibition-era replica 26-gallon pot stills then aged in 15-gallon American white oak, charred barrels.
Iowa Legendary Rye utilizes 100% all-natural ingredients from Carroll and Crawford, County in Iowa. Even our patented stills were made down the road.
Handmade, hand-bottled and hand-labeled while keeping with our families tradition in Carroll County, Iowa. Bringing that smell of freshly baked rye at our distillery daily. Just like our grandmother used to make it.

GRANDMA'S RECIPE
Sextro Rye is a classic brand that focuses on the historical accuracy of a true rye recipe made by Lorine Sextro. Her experience in making bootleg whiskey in the 1930s was well known in the region. She created this classic recipe according to what she innovated from a bootlegger’s direction. Once she had the recipe, she went and improved on it.
Today, we produce that same historically accurate recipe in the same manner with the same 100% rye grain, pot stills, and 15-gallon barrels that grandma used when she was making rye.
